Korea, Japan and China to Address Sandstorm Issue |
Korea, Japan and China on Monday agreed to jointly devise measures to protect against sandstorms. Officials from the three countries said cooperation among them is crucial to tackle the problem. Environmental officials from Korea, Japan and China have gathered for a conference in Ulsan in the southeast part of Korea. They spoke about how the three countries were not able to easily share information on the issue until now. Korea for its part is pushing to establish a tripartite sandstorm research team. Spring sandstorms, mainly from the desert areas of China and Mongolia, blanket Korea in a layer of fine dust. |
