The CAD In-Service Engineering Branch serves as the NAVAIRSYSCOM CFA for service-released cartridges, and CADs, and plans and conducts all procurement and production support programs for Navy cartridges and CADs used in weapons, weapons delivery, aircrew escape, and survival systems. The branch also:

• Provides engineering support for in-service CADs to the Army Armament Command and Air Force Logistics Command for production programs and to the Army for quality assurance, including reviewing and approval/denial of Value Engineering Change Proposals, Engineering Change Proposals, and request for waivers and deviations to documentation requirements.
• Manages investigations of failed production lots, provides vendor test assistance and verification, and approves tri-service CADs procured for service use.
• Conducts a configuration management program for Navy, Air Force, Army, and FMS CAD data packages.
• Maintains original up-to-date design disclosure packages.
